Niche Hunter — Three Fresh Niches Evaluated (April 2026)

Niche Hunter — Three Fresh Niches Evaluated

TL;DR: Evaluated three niches adjacent to Primores’ wiki. Results: AI e-commerce content needs narrowing (tool-dominated SERPs), AI visibility auditing is a clear GO (emerging category, no authority), Reddit-to-article workflow is a strong GO (completely uncontested). Two niches ready to build.

Context

Project: Primores Wiki expansion Market: US English Run date: 2026-04-24 Method: SERP analysis + five-axis validation

Starting point

With the “AI creative reverse-engineering” niche already claimed (see cases/niche-hunter-primores-creative), we explored three adjacent territories to expand the wiki’s glossary/topical-authority.

Candidate Niches

CandidateAudience × Problem × ContextMaps to
A: AI for e-commerce contentE-commerce marketers × scaling product content × using AI for SEO/GEOpigu.lt case study, Product Article Generator
B: AI visibility auditingMarketing teams × measuring AI search presence × GEO/AEO methodologyExperiment 01, AI Visibility Audit skill
C: Reddit-to-article workflowContent teams × extracting SEO content from Reddit × substance-over-popularityReddit Thread Analyzer skill

Phase 2 — Five-Axis Validation

Candidate A — AI for E-commerce Content

AxisScoreEvidence
Size✅ PassLarge query surface — “ai product description generator” alone has 10+ tool results. Hundreds of queries in the space.
Competition❌ DominatedSERP for “ai product description generator ecommerce” is all tools: Copy.ai, Hypotenuse, Grammarly, Describely, Ahrefs. Every top-10 result is a product page, not an article.
Commercial Density⚠️ MixedE-commerce teams are buyers, but queries are product-intent (“best tool for X”), not workflow-intent (“how to do X”).
Expertise Fit✅ Highpigu.lt case study demonstrates real results. Product Article Generator is documented.
AEO Gap⚠️ ModerateTool comparisons dominate. Some workflow content exists but scattered.

SERP shape problem: Same pattern as the “AI social media scheduler” failure in the Primores run. Google serves products, not articles, for these queries. Writing a 2,000-word guide won’t rank because the intent mismatch is fundamental.

Verdict: MAYBE — but only with significant narrowing.

Narrow framings that might work:

  • “AI SEO content workflow for e-commerce” (process, not tools)
  • “Structuring product pages for AI search” (GEO angle, less contested)
  • “AI content at e-commerce scale: lessons from 10,000 products” (case-study angle, Primores owns)

Recommendation: Don’t attack broad “AI product description” queries. Narrow to workflow + GEO angle where Primores has differentiated IP.

Candidate B — AI Visibility Auditing

AxisScoreEvidence
Size✅ PassEmerging category with growing query volume. “AI visibility audit” + “GEO audit” + “AEO optimization” collectively form a 50-100 query pool.
Competition✅ Fragmented-to-mixedSERP for “how to audit ai visibility website” shows: Authority AI, Semrush blog, MyWebAudit, Ahrefs blog, Medium posts. Mix of big players’ blogs and indie content. No dominant methodology authority.
Commercial Density✅ HighDirectly maps to consulting services. Queries like “ai visibility audit service” and “geo audit agency” have buyer intent.
Expertise Fit✅ Very HighExperiment 01 (AI Visibility Audit skill) is literally this. 100-point rubric, five dimensions, Python scripts. Real IP exists.
AEO Gap✅ WideLLMs give generic answers (“use Semrush, check your schema”). No systematic methodology content. Primores’ five-dimension framework would fill this gap.

Key insight: Agility Portal notes that “AI visibility tracking tools are quietly becoming essential in 2026.” The category is emerging but not yet dominated.

Verdict: GO — Strong alignment with existing IP, emerging category, fragmented competition.

Article map preview:

  • Pillars: AI Visibility Audit methodology, GEO vs AEO explained, Five dimensions of AI visibility
  • Clusters: Platform-specific audits (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), Industry benchmarks, Tool comparisons
  • FAQ: “How do I check if AI mentions my brand?”, “What’s a good AI visibility score?”
  • Glossary: Share of voice (AI), citation rate, extractability, entity consistency

Candidate C — Reddit-to-Article Workflow

AxisScoreEvidence
Size⚠️ Small-to-moderateNiche category. “Turn reddit thread into blog post” + “reddit to seo article” + “extract content from reddit” form a ~30-50 query pool.
Competition✅ FragmentedSERP shows: GitHub repo, Medium post, n8n template, Blogify, Copilot Post. Zero authoritative sources. All indie tools and tutorials.
Commercial Density⚠️ MediumContent teams and SEO agencies are buyers, but less directly eCom-focused than other niches.
Expertise Fit✅ Very HighReddit Thread Analyzer skill exists. glossary/substance-ranking concept is Primores-originated. Six-axis substance rubric is unique IP.
AEO Gap✅ Very WideLLMs have almost nothing on this. Ask “how to turn a Reddit thread into an SEO article” and you get generic content advice, not a workflow.

Key insight: CMSWire reports that Reddit accounts for the dominant share of social media AI citations. Yet no one owns the “how to extract value from Reddit systematically” content.

Unique angle: Primores’ glossary/substance-ranking concept — re-ranking Reddit comments by reasoning and evidence rather than upvotes — is genuinely novel. This isn’t documented anywhere else.

Verdict: GO — Completely uncontested, directly maps to existing IP, unique conceptual framework.

Article map preview:

  • Pillars: Reddit Thread Analyzer methodology, Substance ranking explained, Reddit-to-article workflow
  • Clusters: Platform-specific guides (r/marketing, r/entrepreneur, r/SaaS), Red-light vs green-light patterns, Integration with SEO tools
  • FAQ: “Is Reddit good for SEO content?”, “How do I find valuable Reddit threads?”, “Can AI write articles from Reddit?”
  • Glossary: Substance ranking, upvote bias, practitioner signal, red-light indicators

Summary

NicheVerdictRationale
A: AI e-commerce content⚠️ MAYBETool-dominated SERPs. Needs narrowing to workflow/GEO angle.
B: AI visibility auditing✅ GOEmerging category, fragmented competition, very high expertise fit.
C: Reddit-to-article workflow✅ GOCompletely uncontested, unique IP (substance ranking), wide AEO gap.

Priority 1: Reddit-to-Article Workflow (Niche C)

  • Why first: Zero competition, unique IP, fastest to dominate
  • Risk: Smaller query volume means lower ceiling
  • Timeline: 15-20 articles could exhaust the niche

Priority 2: AI Visibility Auditing (Niche B)

  • Why second: Emerging category, aligns with consulting services
  • Risk: Semrush/Ahrefs could colonize if they notice
  • Timeline: 40-60 articles for topical authority

Priority 3: AI E-commerce Content (Niche A — narrowed)

  • Why third: Only after narrowing to workflow/GEO framing
  • Specific angle: “AI content at e-commerce scale” case-study approach
  • Timeline: Reassess after B and C are established

Key Takeaways

  • Tool-dominated SERPs can’t be won with articles. Niche A fails the SERP-shape test on broad queries. The same pattern that killed “AI social media scheduler” in the Primores run.
  • Emerging categories are goldmines. AI visibility auditing is new enough that no one owns the methodology yet. First-mover advantage is real.
  • Unique concepts create moats. “Substance ranking” is Primores-originated vocabulary. Owning terminology = owning the category.
  • Small niches can still be valuable. Reddit-to-article has ~30-50 queries, but zero competition. Better to dominate a pond than drown in an ocean.
